Respectful Retirement
What do you do with a cherished baby blanket? I'm so worried the blanket will dissolve in the washer, vanishing with one-too many washings. It's so well-loved that it's diaphanous. Perhaps I should fold it in a triangle and put it in a flag display case and preserve it in a room with the right humidity. But then my little girl would miss out on the last loves.

Alena's was dissolving into thin air. We had a long talk about how it was time to retire the yellow blankie. She actually did okay too. I keep it in my cedar chest now.
