One of my favorite quotes from J.M. Barrie, the guy who wrote Peter Pan, is: "God gave us memories that we might have roses in December." (Courage, 1922).
I'm sure he meant it poetically, like when we're old, we can remember the bloom of our youth. But dog-gone-it! I need roses now! It's cold and it's February and I want roses! February is my least favorite month because it's been winter for a few months and it's not quite spring. At least it has the decency to be short. Only this year it has 29 days! One extra day of torture.
I hope you all have a happy February! I'm posting this picture of my daughter swimming to make you think of summer roses.
